You Can’t Force Alignment
To Whom It May Concern,
My homegirl Leah has been telling me to start a Substack for over six months now. And for six months, I didn’t listen.
Not because I doubted her. But because I wasn’t moved.
See I am a published poet, a lawyer by training, and a storyteller by nature. Words have always been my home. But understanding how to use them here, in this space, for this purpose, that took time. And I’ve learned not to force what isn’t ready.
So I waited.
Until yesterday I wasn’t waiting anymore. When something inside me shifted and I knew, not thought, not considered, knew, that the time was now.
That’s the thing about divine timing. It doesn’t negotiate. It doesn’t respond to pressure or logic or the well meaning advice of people who love you. It moves when it’s ready. And when it moves, you feel it in a place that has no face, your intuition.
Right now authenticity is needed now more than ever. And I have some real shit to say. I am compelled, not forced, to display my most authentic thoughts and feelings. And I intend to do exactly that.
So here I am. Ready to explore, expand, connect, and share, through letters, because some truths are better said that way.
There’s no such thing as late. There’s no such thing as early. There’s only alignment. And in this moment I am aligned.
Sincerely,
Sanni

Im sooo excited for what’s to come!
